New Time for Monthly Meeting Starting December 6th

The meetings for the next three months starting in December will be held at 2:00 p.m. at the Parksville Community Centre.

Upcoming PNC Special Events

Ladysmith Festival of Lights – Thursday November 29 – 2:00 p.m. – Fee $45

Bus trip to Ladysmith to see its enormously popular “Festival of Lights”.  This event is a favourite with Newcomers so get your name on the list at the November monthly meeting or contact Special Events Co-ordinators Les and Sharon Brocklesby at

Christmas Party with Qualicum Beach Newcomers at Tigh-Na-Mara on Thurs. December 13th with band Doctors of Rock N Roll, Dinner 6:30 and dance till 10:30. Tickets $60 each – only 20 tickets available – contact Sharon Brocklesby if interested (cheques will be payable to QB Newcomers)

PNC Volunteer Opportunities

The incoming board is looking for a Director of Community Relations to co-ordinate speakers for the monthly meetings. The board is also looking for a volunteer to take on what is sometimes referred to as the Sargent at Arms role. This individual is responsible for room set up for the monthly meetings (liaising with facility staff) and selling 50/50 draw tickets. If you are interested please contact email:

North Island Wildlife Recovery Centre (1240 Leffler Rd., Errington) holding its Volunteer Information and Orientation Session on November 7 from 1:30 to 3:30.  Applications need to be completed beforehand.
